My dads first new car and second car after his 78 sunbird was a white 87 tercel coupe. Lol I thought it was a sports car because of all the racket it made on the highway especially with the windows down. Car refused to die on my dad even after 20 + years of daily driver duty in the northeast even after a few accidents so in the early 2000 he gave it for free to a young couple who promptly killed it and told everyone the car was a dud. To this day my dad swears that a heavy right foot killed a car as he explained that cars (especially high mileage ones) are like people, "you can't expect an old man to be able to run on a treadmill at full speed no matter who he is". He also swears that if he had kept it would have still been with us and after that car he developed a Toyota's are unkillable mentality like most 80s toyota owners.

I rocked a tercel wagon for several years... I can honestly say that thing RALLYED all over the mountains... epic in the snow, and always happy schrapling up 4x4 roads in the summer- When I finally put it up for sale, it was gone within about six minutes....
